Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study follows and collects health data on 3,000+ golden retrievers over their lifetime. These data are freely shared with researchers investigating health challenges in dogs. The researcher will analyze several years of data, including geographic location, age, sex and sterilization status (spayed, neutered or intact), to help identify prevalence and patterns of cancer in the cohort, especially in earlier cases. The researcher then will compare this data to human data provided by the CDC to help identify any commonalities. This project will serve as the basis for the researcher's master’s degree in Epidemiology.
