According to a 2017 report, approximately 36% of cats in Sweden have health insurance, likely the highest percentage worldwide. The Agria Pet Insurance Company is the largest pet insurance company in Sweden, insuring approximately 350,000 cats per year. Researchers will analyze Agria data from 2011-2016 to identify the most common and highest-risk conditions for domestic and purebred cats. Data will provide unique insight into specific risk factors for commonly reported health conditions. Understanding age-specific and breed-specific risks also may help inform earlier intervention of health measures to improve overall cat health.
