DENVER/March 13, 2023 —Morris Animal Foundation is accepting research proposals for its Veterinary Student Scholar program, the first of two annual calls.
The Morris Animal Foundation Veterinary Student Scholar (VSS) program is a competitive granting opportunity for veterinary students to experience mentored research that advances the health and/or welfare of dogs, cats, equids and wildlife.
The VSS program awards stipends of up to $5,500 to veterinary students who are selected by their institution to participate in clinical or basic animal health research. Students apply through their home institution.
The VSS program is open to veterinary students attending a school of veterinary medicine recognized by their government and qualifying its graduates to practice veterinary medicine within that country.
The program aligns with the Foundation’s commitment to training the next generation of veterinary researchers. Each institution is encouraged to select and submit the strongest two student projects based on scientific merit, potential animal health impact and opportunity for the student scholar to develop veterinary research skills. All proposals must adhere to Morris Animal Foundation’s guidelines and mission.
The deadline for submissions is June 7, 2023, at 4:59 PM ET.
