DENVER/April 28, 2022 – Morris Animal Foundation, a leader in advancing animal health, has won six 2021 NYX Marcom Awards. The international program honors marketing communications professionals from their respective fields.

“It’s such a tremendous honor to be recognized by The NYX Marcom Awards for so much of our work here at the Foundation,” said Carol Borchert, Chief Marketing Officer at Morris Animal Foundation. “Our marketing and communications team is fortunate to have many talented individuals who understand the importance of connecting with people to help the Foundation achieve its goals – and doing that in creative, engaging ways. Their work is critical to supporting our mission of improving the lives of animals everywhere.”

Morris Animal Foundation’s 2021 NYX Marcom Awards are:

Gold:

  • End-of-Year Fundraising Campaign
  • Veterinary Student Scholar Brochure
  • 2020 Annual Report

Silver:

  • Loyal Friends Monthly Giving Campaign
  • National Dog Day Fundraising Campaign
  • End-of-Year Holiday Card

The Foundation won three gold awards, the first for its End-of-Year Giving campaign. The campaign used a puzzle theme to motivate potential donors by giving them different opportunities to donate to help find the “missing pieces” of important animal health puzzles.

The second was awarded for the Foundation’s Veterinary Student Scholar brochure. The brochure featured hand-written notes from the most recent group of students, along with pictures and details about how their scholarships impacted their research. The brochure showed real-world work being done with the help of donors, and highlighted training the next generation of scientists.

The third gold award was for the Foundation’s 2020 Annual Report. Annual reports are integral to the success of a nonprofit and serve as the conduit between stakeholders and the day-to-day work at the Foundation. The 2020 report provided timely programmatic and financial information and detailed some of the challenges faced in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Foundation also received three silver NYX awards. The first recognized the 2021 Loyal Friends campaign that tapped into the bond between pets and their people by weaving the concept of loyalty into the imagery and copy. The second was awarded for the National Dog Day campaign, featuring a staple of summer, the road trip. The final silver award was for the 2021 Holiday Card, capturing the joy of the holiday season and giving to benefit animals.

The NYX Awards are administered by International Awards Associate and judged by marketing communications professionals at-large and small agencies from 16 countries. NYX entries are ranked via blind judging in accordance with industry-best standards. Entries are evaluated based on the creative proficiency and the messages behind each visual concept.
