Kathy Tietje is a scientist and leadership strategist dedicated to the mission of One Health, which recognizes the connection between the health of animals, people and the environment we share. She joined Morris Animal Foundation in 2019, and leads Scientific Programs, including grantmaking programs, the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study and other Foundation research initiatives.

Prior to joining Morris Animal Foundation, Kathy worked in the biotechnology sector focusing on development of companion diagnostics for human cancer immunotherapy treatments. Before that, she spent over two decades working with academic translational research teams to better understand the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases.   

Kathy lives in Boulder, CO with her husband Grant and Vizsla dog Scout.
