DENVER/May 10, 2022 – Petco Love and the Blue Buffalo Company have donated $100,000 as a matching gift to Morris Animal Foundation’s Stop Cancer Furever campaign, the Foundation announced today. The gift will support companion animal cancer research at the Foundation, including studies in prevention, diagnostics and treatment.

“We are grateful to Petco Love and the Blue Buffalo Company for their continued partnership in the fight against pet cancer,” said Tiffany Grunert, Morris Animal Foundation President and CEO. “Far too many pets suffer from the devastating effects of cancer. The support of our donors, including Petco Love and Blue Buffalo, are what allow us to continue to fund cutting-edge research that will advance cancer care for our beloved companion animals.”

Each year, more than 12 million pets in the United States alone are diagnosed with cancer. It is the leading cause of death in dogs over the age of 2, and a leading cause of death in cats. Since 1962, Morris Animal Foundation has funded more than 300 cancer studies, investing nearly $40 million, and continues to make strides against the disease, thanks to generous donor support.

Since 2010, Petco Love and the Blue Buffalo Company have partnered to raise funds supporting cancer research at Morris Animal Foundation, donating over $7 million toward canine and feline cancer research to date.

“We love our dogs and cats like family and want to put an end to the devastating effects of pet cancer,” said Haley Perry, Senior Manager of Consumer Activation at Blue Buffalo. “We are honored to support Morris Animal Foundation’s critical work in fighting this disease. We will continue to raise awareness and help educate pet parents until a cure is found.”

The donation from Petco Love and Blue Buffalo will be used to match donor gifts, dollar for dollar, during Morris Animal Foundation’s Stop Cancer Furever campaign. The campaign raises awareness of and funds for animal cancer research and runs May 1 through June 30.
