Shayla

Forever in our hearts
Shayla was diagnosed with lymphoblastic T-cell canine lymphoma when she was 2 1/2 years old (a few months after this photo was taken). She went into remission within a week of starting a 6 month regimen of chemotherapy and stayed in remission for 21 months. For quite a while, she was the "miracle dog" at our vet clinic, but then she came out of remission and was given a rescue protocol which put her back into remission for 6 more months. After that various treatments helped some, but she was never completely in remission again and was just 5 years old when she died. She was brave and sweet and fought the cancer as long as she could. We still miss her terribly.
