Saffy

Forever in our hearts
Saffy was really the Best Dog Ever. One night in 2000 some shady looking guys came up to my husband outside a bar trying to sell a puppy. She was probably only 6 weeks old. My husband called an said he had a puppy. I said I didn't want her because I knew the pain of losing a dog, but the guys were long gone and we had a puppy. Saffy was never a barker, digger, or destructive. She loved everyone and everything. She even won over my Mother-In-Law who had never even touched a dog in her life. She was gentle with baby chicks and small children. She was funny and sweet and smart. Everything anyone would ever want in a dog, and more. Saffy had a vestibular attack at the age of 13 but recovered. She had a head tilt after that and slowed down. One sad day in April 2014 she could longer stand or walk. She had always been a clean dog and it was distressing for her to pee on herself. I always promised I'd do right by her. I spoiled her all day with treats, love, and a visit from our dear pet sitter. Taking her to her final vet visit that afternoon was one of the saddest days of my life. RIP my sweet girl
