Rory

Forever in our hearts
Golden Retriever Lifetime Study Hero Dog #2925

Rory came home to us at 8 weeks and became Skye's baby, the puppy she never had. They were together until she passed at 14. When I brought Quinn home in March of 2022 he quickly assumed the role of big brother. They were best friends and she brought out the puppy in him alĺ over again. He loved to show in conformation and always smiled. But he really loved running Fast Cat, and had just earned his FCat 2 this year, and in September he showed in several UKC conformation shows. Everyone cheered for him and he never stopped smiling. Rory had just had his 9th birthday on July 7th. We lost him suddenly on November 18th when he went down in the yard on a soft bed of leaves and was gone.  He loved to snuggle and would velcro himself to me at night. I will miss his smile, his snuggles and his silly woofs when he talked to me. Quinn misses her big brother. I know that Skye met him at the bridge. Run free my sweet boy. I will love you forever.

The journey through grief is different for everyone, but we know support, community and sharing stories help make the experience one of remembrance, renewal and even celebration of the life lost. We hope you find comfort in the memorial you’ve set up for your companion and encourage you to share with family and friends so they can show their love and support.
