Penny
Forever in our hearts
Penny was my sweetheart. She was like another child in our family. Our world fell apart the day we found out she was sick with Lymphoma and was only given a month to live. I couldn't begin to see our family without her. We made the decision to begin chemotherapy at the veterinary hospital at Texas A&M. She responded well to chemo at first and even got her appetite back. Every week we made the hour long drive to the University (stopping at Whataburger for a breakfast taquito to "share") and spent all day receiving her chemo. She wouldn't walk to the back exam room unless I came too. For 6 months she fought hard but never went fully into remission. We realized that her pain meds were not helping anymore and decided it was time to let her go. A week before her 9th birthday, we sat around her on her favorite blanket and said goodbye. It has been 4 years and I still expect her to be there pacing by the back door because she knew it was time for the kids to get off the bus. 4 years and I still cry when I think about her and how much I miss her...
We love you Penny
