Chico
Forever in our hearts
Our sweet Chico was a wonderful dog with such a big personality. Being part American Bulldog and Pitbull, Chico disproved the negative stereotypes of bully-type dogs and loved all kinds of animals and people alike. The pitty smile on his face and floppy ears would brighten anyone's day. Chico loved to run alongside our bikes, swim in the river, play at the park, go for road trips and just about any other activity you can think of.
Unfortunately Chico was diagnosed with Canine Lymphoma when he was about four years old. Thanks to the help of the animal oncology team at the pet hospital in UC Davis, Chico was able to fight the disease and live almost a full year after diagnosis. He would love to visit the hospital for his appointments where he would see his veterinarian friends and fury companions that were also receiving treatment.
Although having a companion with cancer can be devastating, we wouldn't change a thing. Chico lived a wonderful life and taught us so much about love and companionship. We are so grateful to the UC Davis team who provided such great care for him during his battle and so many of our family and friends who provided emotional support and strength. We miss Chico dearly, but he will forever be in our hearts.
