DENVER/November 20, 2024 – Morris Animal Foundation announced a new call for research proposals focused on canine health and using Golden Retriever Lifetime Study samples and/or data. These research awards celebrate the contributions of Dr. Rod Page, the Study’s original principal investigator, Bette M. Morris, a visionary behind the Study, and the beloved Study hero dogs.
The Foundation welcomes Established Investigator and Fellowship Training proposals. Research topics may include, but are not limited to: cancer epidemiology, biomarker studies, risk factors for cancer, and associations between genetic variations, potential risk factors and major health disorders in this cohort. Fellowship Training proposals must be focused on canine cancer. All proposals must use Study data and/or samples.

All applicants for this award must convince the scientific and animal welfare reviewers that they clearly understand the health problem, have sufficient expertise to conduct the study, are using a scientifically sound approach, and have given appropriate consideration to the overall environmental and animal welfare impact of their research. A maximum of one application as Principal Investigator (PI) is permitted.
