DENVER/November 9, 2018 – Foundation’s marketing team brings home honors for rebranded logo, hookworm press release, new website and end-of-year print ad

Morris Animal Foundation, a leader in advancing animal health, is proud to announce it received five 2018 MarCom awards, including two Platinum and two Gold winners. The MarCom Awards are an international competition for marketing and communication materials and programs, honoring excellence in marketing and communication, while recognizing the creativity, hard work and generosity of industry professionals.

“We are honored to be recognized for the enormous efforts we made to connect with our audience and showcase our work,” said Tiffany Grunert, President and CEO at Morris Animal Foundation. “I am so proud of the team at the Foundation and their commitment to our mission. It shines in the hard work from these projects that help us with our mission, to bridge science and resources to advance the health of animals.”

Below is a complete list of MarCom Awards Morris Animal Foundation received.

Platinum:
• Print Media/Design (Print)/Logo – Logo Rebrand
• Research/Study Press Release – “Hookworms Employ Live Fast/Die Young Strategy in Fur Seal Pup Hosts”

Gold:
• Digital Media/Design (Web)/Website redesign – Morris Animal Foundation website
• Print Media/Advertising/Magazine (Ad) – 2017 End of Year Ad

Honorable Mention:
• Print Creativity/Design (Print)/Holiday Card – 2017 Holiday Card

The Foundation won its pair of Platinum awards for the rebranding of its logo and a press release about a study it funded about hookworms’ impact on fur seal populations. The new logo still captures the breadth of the Foundation’s funded work, but now has a cleaner, more modern and sophisticated font, as well as more fluid artwork lines, among other changes. The well-performing press release succinctly explained the unusual relationship between hookworms and fur seals and conveyed the seals’ plight.

Gold awards were won for the design of the Foundation’s new website and its 2017 end-of-year magazine ad. The new website incorporates the Foundation’s new brand and is more consistent from page to page, less cumbersome and mobile-friendly. The advertisement was part of a successful campaign that asked readers to imagine a future without animal cancer, one readers could help create.

The Foundation also claimed an honorable mention for its 2017 holiday card.

The Marcom Awards are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). They are one of the largest, most respected creative competitions in the world, with roughly 6,000 print and digital entries submitted from numerous countries each year.
