DENVER/August 24, 2020 – Dr. Donna Dambach, Senior Vice President of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Sana Biotechnology, is now a member of the Board of Trustees at Morris Animal Foundation.

Dr. Dambach brings to the Board her expertise in strategic and scientific leadership and more than 20 years of technical experience as a veterinary pathologist and toxicologist. Morris Animal Foundation is one of the largest nonprofit organizations worldwide that funds scientific studies to advance the health and well-being of all animals.

“Dr. Dambach has extensive scientific experience and her insights will be an invaluable addition to our Board of Trustees,” said Tiffany Grunert, President and CEO at Morris Animal Foundation. “We are delighted to welcome her, and we know her talents will help us in our mission to advance the health of animals.”

At Sana Biotechnology, which focuses on creating and delivering engineered cells as medicines, Dr. Dambach leads groups responsible for establishing the efficacy and safety profiles for cell- and gene-based therapeutics, from discovery through post-marketing. Prior to joining Sana, she served as Senior Director and Head of Toxicology at Genentech. Before that, she was a practicing veterinarian and veterinary pathologist at the University of Pennsylvania and at Bristol-Myers Squibb, a global biopharmaceutical company.

Dr. Dambach holds a VMD from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, is a board-certified comparative pathologist, and holds a PhD in toxicology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now the New Jersey Medical School at Rutgers University).

“In my current and previous careers, my stakeholders are my patients, and I want to do what I can to ensure they live the longest, healthiest lives possible,” said Dr. Dambach. “I think that aligns perfectly with Morris Animal Foundation’s goals.
