DENVER/May 12, 2021 – Morris Animal Foundation, a leader in advancing animal health, is proud to announce it received seven Hermes Creative Awards, including one platinum and four gold winners. The Hermes Creative Awards are an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials, marketing and communication programs, and emerging technologies.

“What an honor this is to be recognized for the hard work we’ve done to connect with our audiences,” said Carol Borchert, Chief Marketing Officer at Morris Animal Foundation. “It goes without saying that 2020 was a trying year for everyone, but we are proud that through these award-winning projects, we were still able to engage our supporters to help us in our mission to give animals longer, healthier lives.”

Morris Animal Foundation received Hermes Creative Awards for:

Platinum:
• Print Media/Design – 2019 Annual Report

Gold:
• Public Relations/Webinar – “Chronic Kidney Disease in Cats – What Owners Need to Know”
• Electronic Media/Social Media Campaign – 2020 National Dog Day Social Campaign
• Print Media/Promotional Items – Facial Mask for Personal Protection
• Print Media/Design – Morris Animal Foundation Brand Book

Honorable Mention:
• Electronic Media/E-Mail Campaign – 2020 National Dog Day Email Campaign
• Electronic Media/E-Mail Communication – 2020 Colorado Gives Day Email

The Foundation won its platinum award, the competition’s highest honor, for the design of its 2019 Annual Report. The brochure artfully showcased the Foundation’s accomplishments from the year, celebrated the animals it helped and thanked donors in an effort to build excitement for the coming year.

Two gold awards were given for projects that reflected the difficulty of 2020. One was the creation of special logoed face masks, which provided a meaningful way for supporters to stay connected to the Foundation. A National Dog Day social media campaign reminded owners how dogs were bringing joy and comfort during a challenging time. Ads, videos and other posts encouraged viewers to share why they loved their dogs and to donate on their behalf.

A third gold award was earned for the Foundation’s new brand book. This provides a comprehensive, yet succinct, guide to the Foundation for staff members and external partners, enabling the Foundation to promote its work in advancing the health and well-being of animals.

Finally, the Foundation received a gold award for its webinar on chronic kidney disease, one of the many common problems afflicting older cats. The informative presentation for veterinarians and cat owners covered the basics of the disease and the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment.

The Hermes Creative Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The 20-year-old competition has grown into one of the largest of its kind in the world, with more than 6,000 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and dozens of other countries.
