Animal health study sponsorships are MAF's lifeblood, the fundamental mechanism by which MAF serves its mission to protect, treat and cure animals.

Individuals, groups or organizations can sponsor health studies. When you sponsor a study you can follow the success and challenges the scientists are encountering. Plus, receive updates on actual animals being helped.

Step 1 — Determine your sponsorship level

You can sponsor a study at many giving levels. Often, groups of individuals or organizations work together to collect funds for a study.

  • With a minimum gift of $3,000, you can co-sponsor one of our traditional studies (Established Investigator, First Award or Fellowship Training). Or you may fully sponsor a study at the yearly budget amount listed with the study description
  • With a gift of $3,000–5,000, you can fully sponsor a Veterinary Student Scholar (VSS). These grants provide veterinary students with the opportunity to become involved in health research that will enhance the health and well-being of companion animals and wildlife. Co-sponsorships are not available for VSS projects. Click here to download current sponsorship opportunities.

Step 2 — Select a study

Use our online tool to search our current studies. Once you've found one, click the "Sponsor This Study" button at the bottom and submit your donation of $3,000 or more. Click here to download a PDF of our current Study Sponsorship booklet.
