Animal World Loses a Great Advocate

Morris Animal Foundation honors true friend of animals

The veterinary world lost a true great, and Morris Animal Foundation lost a true friend on October 18 when Dr. Robert “R.K.” Anderson passed away at the age of 90. He was a revolutionary animal behaviorist, founder of the Animal Behavior Resources Institute and co-inventor of the Gentle Leader head collar and Easy Walk harness.

In addition, Dr. Anderson established the R.K. Anderson Endowment Fund for Research on Improving the Behavior of Companion Animals at Morris Animal Foundation in 2007. The endowment helped the Foundation fund important research into companion animal behavior.

We thank Dr. Anderson for his support of Morris Animal Foundation and for the way in which he made the world a brighter place for animals. He will be missed.
