Laurie Peterson joined Morris Animal Foundation in 2016 as Vice President of Development. She brings with her a passion for animals and over two decades of for-profit and nonprofit sales and fundraising experience. Laurie has a diverse skillset including strategic planning and fiscal management, donor relations, team building, development of new revenue streams and event planning. Prior to joining the Foundation, Laurie was Director of Development for Hunger Free Colorado.
Laurie received her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Mary Washington, and her master’s in nonprofit management from Regis University. She volunteers for several organizations, including the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver and Opera Colorado Young Artists, and enjoys all that Colorado has to offer from hiking (with her rescue pup, Daisy Mae) and kayaking, to ice climbing and dirt bike riding. Laurie also plays classical piano and, when she has the chance, loves to travel.
