Coronavirus Research

Morris Animal Foundation has funded many studies over the years in a different kind of coronavirus – feline coronavirus (FCoV). This virus is in the same family as SARS-CoV-2, but only infects cats and does not affect people. FCoV rarely causes symptomatic disease in cats, but when it mutates it can cause the deadly feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).

Ways to Give

Morris Animal Foundation currently is funding more than 120 active studies. Our continuing support is critical to the organizations we fund. In turn, their work is essential to addressing important animal health issues that impact our pets and animals around the world.

The U.S. Congress recently enacted several tax law changes to encourage charitable giving during this challenging time, laws that benefit donors and assist nonprofit organizations in continuing their missions.
