DENVER/September 10, 2021 – Bird lovers won’t want to miss this month’s episode of Morris Animal Foundation’s “Fresh Scoop” podcast, available now for streaming and download. Host Dr. Kelly Diehl, the Foundation’s Senior Director of Science and Communications, interviews Dr. David L. Anderson, Science Liaison and Research Coordinator at The Peregrine Fund.

Anderson talks about his organization’s work, threats to raptors around the world, and his Foundation-funded study to save the Dominican Republic’s Ridgway’s hawk, a critically endangered species. Requiring a great deal of athleticism and determination, his team successfully tested the regular administration of an insecticide to save nestlings from voracious parasites.

“Fresh Scoop” is Morris Animal Foundation’s monthly veterinary science podcast designed to appeal to practicing veterinarians, veterinary technicians or students, as well as animal-loving science geeks. Episodes are available on iTunes, Spotify, and Stitcher as well as the Foundation’s podcast page.
