Updated July 15, 2020 – As the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study rolls through the years, we occasionally need to refresh our processes. This summer, we’re simplifying the questionnaires and streamlining some of our operations including our contact center for phone and email inquiries. These changes allow us to improve and enhance our operations, reduce overhead costs and direct more funding to research.
Important transition dates:
- July 10 – one week remains for owners and veterinarians to complete any unlocked questionnaires
- July 10 – new phone system activates
- July 19 – questionnaires change to new platform at 8 p.m. Eastern Time
- July 20 – questionnaires will be available to users at 9 a.m. Eastern Time
The Study call center will continue to operate through the weekend of July 17 to July 20 on an emergency basis.
Changes Hero owners may notice
The Study call center hours of operation are changing from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. to 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Eastern Time Zone, Monday-Friday, beginning July 13, 2020. The call center number (1-855-447-3647) and our email address ([email protected]) remain the same.
We expect you’ll find your Annual Questionnaire easier to navigate and faster to complete. We have developed the questionnaire using new user-friendly software, but the questions remain the same. If you have questions about the new format, please contact our Study team for assistance.
You also may notice small changes to your Study Kit, but all Study-related specimen collection will stay the same. A Biopsy Kit can be requested by contacting our team and will still be included in your Annual Kit every other year.
We will continue to provide partial reimbursement for the Annual Veterinary Visit ($75 annually), but this reimbursement will be in the form of a check rather than the Visa or Petco gift cards. This change took effect on July 1, 2020. If you have a balance remaining on a gift card it will be available to you until the card expires.
Changes Study veterinarians may notice
The Annual Questionnaire and Malignancy-Related Questionnaire (formerly known as the Additional Veterinary Visit questionnaire) have been redesigned to reduce time and effort. If you have more than one Study dog at your practice, they will all be listed when you log in to the website so you can easily view them.
We hope these changes will enhance your online experience. Thank you for your dedication to the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. We couldn’t do this without you!
