New “Cottle” Gives Portion of Sales to Benefit Animal Health Studies
DENVER/August 8, 2019 – Since opening its doors in June 2017, Bigsby’s Folly, an urban winery in Denver, has committed to raising funds for animal health studies at Morris Animal Foundation. Now, the winery is expanding its corporate philanthropy program benefiting the Foundation with a donation from sales of its new aluminum wine bottles or “cottles.”
The cottle, an aluminum can-bottle hybrid, is the first of its kind in size and shape for the wine industry and includes the Morris Animal Foundation logo on the neck of the bottle. The initial release is now available at select retailers, online at Bigsby’s Folly and will be arriving at various sports and entertainment venues across the Denver metro area later this summer.
“We lost Bigsby, our first golden retriever, to cancer when he was only 8 years old,” said Marla Yetka, co-owner of Bigsby’s Folly with her husband, Chad. “When the Morris Animal Foundation Golden Retriever Lifetime Study started, we knew we could help by being a part of the Study and enrolled our new puppy, Snickers. But we wanted to do more. Even before we opened the winery, we knew we would be dedicating a portion of proceeds and using our new business to fundraise and create awareness for animal health and welfare organizations.”
In addition to the new donation program through the sale of its new aluminum bottles, Bigsby’s Folly supports Morris Animal Foundation by donating 100% of proceeds from their doggie biscuit bottle sales, and by hosting Yappy Hour Pawties to raise awareness of and funds for the Foundation and other nonprofit animal-centric organizations.
“We can’t thank Marla and Chad enough, and everyone at Bigsby’s Folly, for all the wonderful work they do raising funds for Morris Animal Foundation,” said Carol Borchert, Vice President of Marketing and Brand Strategy with Morris Animal Foundation. “They also champion the Foundation with their customers and business neighbors, and Marla even makes frequent media appearances, along with Snickers, to talk about the Foundation. She really is an amazing ambassador for our organization, and we are deeply appreciative of all she does to help dogs everywhere.”
(Bigsby’s Folly’s next Yappy Hour Pawty benefiting Morris Animal Foundation is Aug. 11, 1-4 p.m., at Bigsby’s Folly, 3563 Wazee St., Denver 80216. Grab your best friend(s) and join us for treats and fun (dogs are welcome on the patios).
