August 16, 2018 – Our National Dog Day Campaign is in full swing, with only 10 days to go! Ending on August 26, the campaign is raising funds for our groundbreaking Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. The study seeks to identify the nutritional, environmental, lifestyle and genetic risk factors for cancer and other major diseases in dogs.
The study is now in its sixth year and is gathering data on and samples from more than 3,000 enrolled golden retrievers throughout their lives. At a cost of $32 million, it is one of the largest studies ever undertaken in veterinary medicine and will help define canine health studies for decades to come.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported the campaign. We are grateful, too, for the media opportunities we’ve been given to talk about the campaign and study, including an interview featuring Tiffany Grunert, Acting President/CEO, with Hero Dog #457, Hamlet, on Denver’s Mile High Living program on August 3.
If you’d like to support the study, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $50,000, now through National Dog Day on Aug. 26. Please consider making a gift today. Help us make a difference in the lives of our best friends. With your help, their tails will wag happier, longer.
