Taking the initiative to improve horse health

The Equine Health Initiative is the largest equine health campaign in Morris Animal Foundation’s history. The initiative’s first project, the Equine Consortium for Genetic Research (ECGR), is a worldwide research effort that brought together the best equine researchers in a collaborative effort to improve equine health. The ECGR has made major inroads into determining the location of genes that cause specific disease traits in horses. Read more about this breakthrough genetic research.
