A Day for the Mutts! Health, Wellness & Spaw Day in Boulder, CO

Join Muttropolis for a fun day of valuable health and wellness advice from pet nutrition experts, pet massage therapy demonstrations, dog behavior and obedience advice, calming aromatherapy treatments for dogs and cats, free refreshments, wholesome dog treats and giveaways. Thank Your Vet for a Healthy Pet Luncheon at WVC

Celebrate the winners of the first annual Thank Your Vet for a Healthy Pet Contest! The nationwide short essay contest honors America’s veterinarians for their skill, dedication and commitment to ensuring that pets are healthier, happier and living longer lives. The luncheon will also feature a special talk by Dr. Marty Becker, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul and a regular on Good Morning America. The first show was held at the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel which was a beautiful setting for a horse show. The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show was a first class show from the very first day. 1st International Workshop on Camelid (Llamas/Alpacas) Genetics

The purpose of the workshop is to provide an opportunity for camelid researchers, veterinarians and geneticists to meet, exchange ideas and information and to discuss future priorities and collaborations.

MAF was invited to this workshop because since 1990, we have provided $1.3 million in financial support for 51 llama/alpaca studies.

Theilen Tribute Symposium- 50 years in Veterinary Cancer Research starts right on Gordon's 80th Birthday!

Alice Villalobos, DVM, is organizing a special tribute symposium and 80th birthday celebration for Dr. Gordon Theilen. This has special note due to the MAF’s Canine Cancer Campaign effort.

The cancer symposium is a first of its kind to present research bullets that may apply future techniques which may eliminate cancer from high risk dog breeds delay its onset, provide curative therapy or treat cancer innovatively.

8th Annual Pepper Memorial Classic

The Pepper Memorial Classic is a canine agility event that was established in 2000 by Lin and Greg Battaglia of Reno, Nev., after they lost their beloved Sheltie, Pepper, to lymphoma, the number one cancer in dogs. The agility trial is a remembrance for Pepper and his love for competition. Over the past 7 years, this event has raised over $70,000.
