Ready, Set, Go! Annual Agility Trail to Support Canine Cancer Research

It’s time again to rally together for the annual Pepper/Sampson Memorial Classic NADAC Agility Trial to benefit Morris Animal Foundation. This year’s event will be held July 27–29 at the University of Nevada–Reno campus, in the Women’s Sports Complex at 400 Manogue Road in Reno.

This marks the 12th anniversary of the agility event, which to date has raised more than $114,000 for canine lymphoma research. Lymphoma is the No. 1 cancer affecting dogs, and event organizers Lin and Greg Battaglia hope to continue their fundraising efforts to help Morris Animal Foundation give dogs longer, healthier, cancer-free lives.

In the fall of 1999, the Battaglias’ lives were changed forever when they lost their beloved Sheltie, Pepper, to lymphoma, and in 2000 they began hosting the memorial agility event to raise money for canine cancer research. Their friends Cherie and Sean Singer joined the effort two years ago after losing their Sheltie, Sampson, to lymphoma. The two families’ passion for fighting canine cancer has rallied hundreds each year to support their effort and help fund canine cancer research.
