Boxers and cancer

A recent cancer survey in 435 dogs found that brain cancer is more common in dogs than previously reported, and boxers are one of the most commonly affected dogs (Song et al J Vet Intern Med 2013; 27:1143-1152).  Owners should be mindful of symptoms, which can include difficulty walking, facial paralysis and impaired vision, particularly as their boxers enter their later adult years.

The more we learn about cancer in boxers, and in all dogs, the more we can do to prevent or cure this disease. To learn how you can fight back against cancer, visit Morris Animal Foundation Unite to Fight Pet Cancer.
