October 5, 2011
Denver-Morris Animal Foundation, a world leader in helping animals enjoy longer, healthier lives by advancing animal health and welfare worldwide, has committed to funding more than 80 new and continuing companion animal studies in 2012. Over the next three years, more than $4 million is committed for canine health and welfare research and nearly $2 million will go toward feline health and welfare research.
Funding will be provided to established researchers, new researchers and veterinarians pursuing advanced study. Such studies include those identifying risk factors for heart disease in cats, understanding how bone cancer spreads in dogs, determining how the environment affects stress in cats and mapping genes associated with inflammatory brain disorder in dogs.
