Richard Swanson

Board trustee

Imagine, says Richard Swanson, a “six-foot tall tower of ice cubes, each ice cube a species, with humans at the top and microbes at the bottom. As species die off, the tower becomes weaker; if the ice cube below you melts, you might disappear, too. Animal health is directly related to a healthy world.” In his own life, he notes that he and his wife have been owned by cats for 37 years of marriage. His work with Morris Animal Foundation, where he is in his second term as a member of the board of trustees, not only advances the health of the cats that share our lives, but also the other living creatures that share our world.
